About Us

About the Records, Racing and Rally Association

Welcome to The Royal Aero Club - Records, Racing and Rally Association (often referred to as the 3R's or RRRA for short) website.

Our organisation is responsible for overseeing handicapped Air Racing, British and World Aviation Records set by UK based pilots, companies or aircraft and oversight of formal air rallies.

This authority is delegated to us via the Royal Aero Club and their authority comes from the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale. Most of our activities revolve around arranging handicapped air races which include the Schneider Trophy and King’s Cup and culminate in the British Air Racing and European Air Racing Championships in the UK, Northern Europe, Channel Isles and Ireland and the oversight of World Record attempts. Where there are formal rallies with competitions that require oversight to FAI rules then we are also able to provide this oversight.

Handicapped air racing is not only an exciting sport for pilots but of interest to spectators. Non-pilots are invited to have a look at our race calendar and are welcome at any of our race events.

Hopefully what you will see on our website will tempt you to join us in the future.
